Cart Rage

Have you ever seen cart rage?

Well, we saw the male version of this yesterday – he looked like a football lineman with his game face on - bulldozing through the aisles.

One of my more entertaining grocery runs. To top it off, I asked KC to pick out some fresh produce and he came back with these:

Diaper Dash Champ

I just ran 'The HAPPIEST Race On Earth' thanks to KC who registered me to run in 'The Happiest Place On Earth' - the Disney Land 5K. It seriously was a blast. It ended up being more like an 8k ... I slept in and realized I FORGOT TO PICK UP MY REGISTRATION PACKET the pervious night! I've done this before. My dad always did that kind of stuff for me at races and, well, obviously I still haven't learned. This was a CHRISTMAS present (9 months ago) from KC ... it's not like I didn't have time to think it through. Luckily, I raced to the starting line just in time and they took pity on me. After Mickey and Minni shot the starting gun, we were off - all 4,000 of us runners. It was such a fun course - winding through the streets and back streets of Disney Land. I finished in just over 21 minutes. Thanks Babe!

Our little Tally was a doll as always - waking at the crack of dawn and coming along. When I finished, a lady saw Tally walking and said, "you should have her do the Diaper Dash." We couldn't resist...

Here she is warming up in front of Walt Disney himself and the famous Disney Land Castle.

Unfortunately, the Diaper Dash was a registered race and we hadn't registered her. But ... we decided to wait it out and see what we could do.

On the third round of Diaper Dash competitors, there was an empty lane. The official asked me if Tally was competing. I said I hadn't registered her but she'd love to do it. They said it was no problem ... WAHOO ... As you can tell from the video, Tally was doing great. They were playing the song "Diapers of Fire" as the announcer so cleverly announced. As soon as Tally looked up and saw all the photographers and big cameras at the finish line, she fell apart. See for yourself:

In spite of her break down, Tally finished 1st place.

She even received her own medal like mine. As you can tell, it took her a few minutes to recover.

The dash took it out of her.

And here is the Diaper Dash Champ on the flight home - she figured this one out on her own.

Bubble Yum

New toothbrush, new bubble yum toothpaste ... Tally would have stayed here all night had we let her.

This is a perfect pic of Tally - her characteristic straight up hairdo.

Also, this video was too stinkin' cute not to share. This girl loves her shoes now ... I can't imagine what she'll be like 15 years from now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TALLY!

Yesterday was Tally Birthday - I can't believe my little girl is one! All day, I felt so proud. It is such a blast being the mom at a birthday - a new experience. Tally is such an amazing daughter - I am so lucky, so blessed. I never knew such a little person could fill such a big piece of my heart.

This is what she looked like when we brought her home from the hospital - one year ago.

Wow, she has grown.

This picture had a 50/50 percent chance of making the blog. This is the cake I made for her. If it didn't turn out ... I wasn't going to mention it. I think it turned out okay, so here it is. I got the idea from one of her favorite books where a caterpillar turns into a butterfly on a sunflower. I designed it and added the little butterflies, ladybugs, and bee that I made out of candy.

Here's a few pics of Tally on her birthday:

Playing w/new toys

TRYING CAKE ... This is how it went:

Sharing w/Dad

She loved it

Of course - she needed one of these afterwards. It was a blast watching her open presents and dig into cake! I love messy birthday cake faces! Happy Birthday once again to Tal!

Melts My Heart

Tally lights up every time KC comes home. She smiles, giggles and waves. Every mother who's with their child most of the day probably wonders at some point if their child gets sick of them. I thought this just before I went to a baby shower last night with some friends. Tally had a great time w/dad as always - he had her all bathed and ready for bed when I got back. I walked in and as soon as Tally saw me she reached her hand out and twisted her face in the most desperate expression. "Ma ma ... aaa" She nearly crawled over his shoulder to get to me. I picked her up. She buried her head into my shoulder and patted me on the chest. Looking at KC, she patted me again on the chest and smiled. She wouldn't let go of me all night - It melted my heart.

Hard to believe that a year ago I hadn't even met this little girl who has become such a great little friend. Here is a pic of her the first day we brought her home from the hospital - almost one year ago:

What I've Been Up To ... By Tally

Havin' an awesome summer. This is me playing in the grass
This is the face I like makin'

This is old news ... I'm moving on to WALKING

Becoming a world traveler. Lovin these free flights...this is my usual spot. I 'spread a little sunshine' to everyone who walks past.

Eating Fruit...
LOTS of fruit.

Books, books, and more books. Nothing keeps me entertained more.

Getting stuck under here.

Getting stuck under here too ... this little walker is pretty cool

Taking it easy now and then

Still trying to figure these out.

Helping mom ...

(Sort of)

I can't believe mom stopped tossing me on the bed - I's havin so much fun.

Taking care of Care Bear

Getting ready for some pretty wild parties at night

Making messes

More books.

Having a lot of fun with these things lately.

Hanging out with Cousin Tyler in Oregon.

He's pretty cool :)

Not sure what I was thinking here. The 5:00 am flight was pretty rough I guess.

Hanging out w/my favorite guy on the 4th of July

This is who I spend most my time with.

We do cool things like read books, shop, play on the floor together, jump on the bed, story time at B&N.

Havin' a great 4th of July w/my cousins

This was fun.

Scouring through mom's purse for the goods...

I found it!

More messes :)

Took my first trip to the beach thanks to Parker and Hunter ...

I struggled a little bit here.

This made it all better

I got used to the sand...

and LOVED it.

That's what I've been up to :)
